Low Energy House
Our own two-storey house and ground floor office is built on a challenging brownfield site in the Upper Ouseburn Valley, close to Newcastle City Centre.
The two-storey building is built into the steep valley side and utilises the excavated earth to insulate the embedded walls as well as cover the intensively planted roof-scape. The garden is irrigated using recycled grey water.
Heating and hot water are provided by means of a ground sourced heat pump linked to two 50m deep geothermal boreholes.
