A significant mixed use residential development in the heart of Newcastle’s vibrant Ouseburn Valley.
A key aim in the proposal is the provision of high quality residential accommodation in keeping with the area developing around this former industrial landscape. The key aim for the design team has been to produce a high quality architectural vision with a strong emphasis on sustainability and so able to contribute towards Newcastle City Council’s policy ‘to create a thriving and sustainable urban village’ within the Ouseburn Valley.
The development comprises 4 residential apartment blocks accommodating a total of 83No apartments organised around a new public landscaped courtyard.
Our design focus is upon high quality contemporary living, with individual apartments arranged around generous open plan spaces and private sheltered terraces. These are cut into monolith brick buildings which echo the historic warehouse architecture, typical of the Ouseburn Conservation Area.
Commercial units animate the ground floors wherever possible bringing life and activity to street level.
